About Akosua
Born to Jamaican parents, Akosua Sankofa devoured numerous books in her early years, developing a fascination for sci-fi and fantasy. As a child, her parents could be seen leaving their local public library toting crates of books they hoped would last through the week ahead. Usually, they didn’t.
After stumbling across an intriguing 2019 news article about an actual deep-sea base being built in the South China Sea, she began penning Monmouth Deep. She has also researched numerous documented encounters with UAPs and USOs (‘unidentified submerged objects’) reported by members of the US military/intelligence community, as well as civilian eyewitnesses.
This inspired an abiding fascination for both the subject and the rapidly-evolving perceptions of this topic expressed in the media. She enjoys baking, reading, taking family road-trips to the seaside, and co-writing short, humorous stories (including Victorian-era comedies) with her sister.
