Eighteen Tall Grey scientists were recruited by the SSP leadership to work at Monmouth Lab, where they were quickly integrated into the fabric of all units, greatly accelerating successful reverse-engineering of crashed space vessels.

Distant and cerebral, these largely non-verbal telepaths originate from the star system Zeta Reticuli.  They are adept at mind-reading, which our newest hires invariably find intrusive.  Their presence in the program continues to engender much fear and trepidation amongst the human staff, as these beings do not appear to recognize emotion, nor do they demonstrate empathic awareness.  However, their presence at the lab is necessary: they are known in the Local Sector as a highly advanced, scientific species who have mastered numerous technologies considered theoretical even among their light-speed-capable galactic brethren. 

Largely amoral, their true allegiance has difficult to discern over the decades.  SSP intelligence records hint at a gradual decline in favorable relations between the Zetas and the Galactic Federation of Worlds during most of the 1900s.  Political ties were officially severed in the late 1980s due to the Maia’s discovery of their collaboration with the Federation’s nemesis, the warlike Imperial Orions. 

Due to their unaffiliated status, they were quickly targeted for their technical expertise by Dean Conrad when he joined the Project leadership in 2015. 

Their bones are lighter and slightly thinner than comparable human bones, as gravity on their native world gravity is weaker, and therefore require specially designed labs to perform optimally.
